Summer University

Hungary 2004

A Program for University Teachers, Advanced Ph.D Students, Researchers and Professionals in the Social Sciences and Humanities.


July 5-30, 2004

The CEU Summer University (SUN) offers a series of high-level, research based, intensive, two and three-week courses in the social sciences and humanities for the most gifted, research oriented, young academics and rofessionals with the aim of providing help to develop and refine their research and policy agenda as well as integrate their teaching with innovative research.

The language of instruction is English.

Participants from Central and Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union and emerging democracies world-wide are eligible for scholarships. For detailed course descriptions, financial information, etc. please visit our web site.

The application deadline is January 15 for scholarship participants.

Fee-paying applications can be submitted continuously until May 17.

2) Curriculum Resource Center at the Central European University (Hungary, Budapest) announces

Call for proposals for the Course Development Competition (CDC)

2004-2005 academic year

Application deadline: 31 January 2004

All applications should reach the CRC office by this date

The Course Development Competition is a 10-month grant offered to faculty from East-Central Europe, the former Soviet Union and Mongolia who wish to develop and introduce new university courses at their institutions.
Proposed courses should be innovative in content, methodology and teaching approach.

The competition is open to individuals and groups, and the grant includes monthly stipends, allowances for book purchases, preparing teaching materials, photocopying, etc., as well as additional travel costs.
