In the middle of composition we can see the main building of the University. On the left side we can see the picture of Archangel Michael - patron of Kyiv, on the right Saint Volodymyr is represented, Great prince and patron of knowledge.
The basis of this composition shows the year of foundation of the University - 1834. The coat of arms is crowned by ribbon with inscriptions: “Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv”.
The University in Kyiv - University of Saint Volodymyr – was founded in 1834. The University was named after Taras Shevchenko in 1939. Coat of arms was designed in 1994 on the 160 anniversary of its foundation by S.Beliaev.
