Foreigners training in Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University is accomplished according to the Ukrainian Law. About legal status of foreigners. and by the government decree of Ukraine about foreigners training in Ukraine.

  • Admission of foreigners for training in Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University is realized in accordance with procedure, established by the "Clause about admission of foreigners and persons without citizenship for training in institutions of higher education", which is approved by decree of Ministry of Ukraine of 5 September 1998 No.1328.

    Preparation for foreigners training in Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University in all specialties in both Ukrainian and Russian languages is provided by Preparatory faculty.

    Preparatory faculty.s curricula and syllabi provide subsequent training in institutions of higher education in following specialties: engineering and natural sciences, medical-biological and agrarian sciences, economics and humanities (including music, figurative arts and choreography).

    Therefore, Preparatory faculty offers courses according to the following broad educational fields:

  • Engineering and natural sciences . Ukrainian or Russian language (at student's option), math, physics, chemistry, drawing, informatics, regional geography.
  • Medical-biological sciences and agriculture . Ukrainian or Russian language (at student's option), biology, physics, chemistry, informatics, regional geography.
  • Economics . Ukrainian or Russian language (at student's option), math, introduction to economics, geography, informatics, regional geography.
  • Humanities (including music, figurative arts and choreography) . Ukrainian or Russian language (at student's option), literature, regional geography, geography, special courses (for creative majors), informatics.
  • Completion of Preparatory faculty's engineering and natural sciences field enables students to enroll to the following departments of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University: Geography, Geology, Cybernetics, Mechanics and Math, Radio Physics, Physics and Chemistry at National Taras Shevchenko University, as well as at other higher educational institutions specializing in engineering and natural sciences.

    Completion of Preparatory faculty.s medical-biological and agrarian field enables students to enroll to the Faculty of Biology at National Taras Shevchenko University, as well as at other higher educational institutions specializing in medicine, biology, and agriculture.

    Completion of Preparatory faculty.s economics field enables students to enroll to National Taras Shevchenko University 's Faculty of Economics and Division of International Economic Relations within the Institute of International Relations, as well as at other higher educational institutions specializing in economics.

    Completion of Preparatory faculty.s humanities field enables students to enroll to the Institute of International Relations (divisions of International Relations, International Law and International Information), Institute of Journalism, Institute of Philology, faculties of History, Philosophy, Law, Sociology and Psychology of National Taras Shevchenko University, as well as at other higher educational institutions specializing in humanities.

    Preparatory faculty.s graduates receive Certificate which allows them to enroll to any higher educational institution in Ukraine on the basis of interview contract`basis.

    Preparatory faculty issues invitations to study, accepts applications, concludes contracts with legal and physical bodies and enrolls freshmen on the year-round basis.

    In order to enable prospective students to enter Ukraine, Preparatory faculty issues them official invitation letters, by means of which they can qualify for entrance visas at Ukrainian embassies.

    In order to receive official invitation letter to study at Preparation Department, an applicant should provide the following information: first name and surname, date of birth, passport number, address of residence and place of submission of visa application (country and city with Ukrainian Embassy ).

    In order to obtain entrance visa at a Ukrainian embassy, as well as in order to cross Ukrainian border and to get admitted to Preparatoy faculty, an applicant is required to produce the following documents:

  • original invitation letter;
  • a notarized copy of birth document;
  • a notarized copy of a document attesting his/her education with grades for completed courses;
  • a medical certificate, issued by official public health service not earlier than two months prior to entering Ukraine ;
  • a medical evidence attesting his/her not being infected by HIV;
  • an open-ended return ticket valid throughout a year;
  • 12 photos sized 3x4 cm.
  • An applicant should notify Preparatory faculty about the date of his entry to Ukraine and his flight or train number not later than 3 days prior to arrival. Thereupon representatives of Preparatory faculty meet an applicant and arrange his/her accommodation .

    Upon his/her arrival to Ukraine the applicant urgently (within 1-2 days) submits his/her application to the University in order to be registered and enrolled to Preparatory faculty and buys a medical insurance police.

    Students of Preparatory faculty are accommodated in a comfortable residential complex.

    Residential complex of Preparatory faculty includes two dormitories with total capacity of 960 residents arranged in two-room sections. Each section consists of two rooms (double-room and triple-room) with individual set of furniture for each resident. Each room contains a fridge, while each section includes a toilet with wash sink and a bathroom with another wash sink. Residential complex provides all necessities for secure and comfortable life of students, including:

  • round-the-clock security on the ground and each floor;
  • storage compartments;
  • dining-room, cafeteria and buffet;
  • computer room with Internet access;
  • modern sport complex;
  • disco hall with audio and video appliances;
  • satellite TV.
  • Preparatory faculty regularly organizes excursions to Kyiv and other sites in Ukraine, as well as various entertaining and sports events.
