On October 16 at 10:00 a lecture will be delivered by president of the University of Kyoto (Japan), Professor Hiroshi Matsumoto in the honourable audience named of M. Maksymovich (№ 329), National Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv with the assistance of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan in Ukraine Mr. Toichi Sakata. The subject of the lecture is «Two paradoxes in Science and Economic Growth. Are we Heading in the Right Direction?» This lecture by Professor H. Matsumoto will help the ukrainian scientists and students to realize views of the world intellectual elite concerning contradiction in the development of science and economical growth and main goals of universities in the modern globalized world. The lector identifies three major tasks of universities: - building new intelligent systems through research ; -development human resources through the dissemination of knowledge; - strengthening the role of universities in society. Matsumoto, a famous scientist in the field of space researches, the author of about 400 scientific papers, was awarded by many honours Japanese and international scientific societies.
